Are you using the original resolution of the monitor?
What you are having problems near is shadowing. What you need to do is buy a shielded vga cable or an amplified shielded vga cable. I'm assuming you're using the analog output (15 pin ), consequently this would be the solution. I have have the same problem up to that time, but upon upgrading the cables, the problem have gone away.
It looks like the information cable of your monitor is bit old to automatically adjust the frequency.



You can try to alteration the refresh rate by going to Display properties----->settings------... and try adjust the refresh rate.
