Monitor turning past its sell-by date after a few milliseconds.?

Just this morning my Planar monitor basically doesn't seem to stay on. Even during the peak where everything is unplugged and it say "No Signal". I know my 5yr old be messing around down here last darkness but could there be a setting on the monitor itself that doesn't allow it to stay on? I plugged the monitor into my laptop as a dual blind and it does the same grotesque thing. The simply time it displays is when I change the resolution and afterwards it shuts down almost instantly. thanks surrounded by advance.

Answer:

Your 5 year ripened might have changed the rejuvenate rate to one higher than the monitor supports.

Since you don't own time to change anything since the monitor shuts off, try to boot into undamaging mode and uninstall your monitor.

Reboot the computer and it should come back for you. You might own to reinstall the monitor driver for advanced settings.
it would appear that if it's doing this on anything you hook it to, that either the cable is desperate or the relays inside the monitor are bad. within this case, it isn't worth trying to find it fixed but rather land a new monitor.
Your monitor is not getting a signal. Check and put together sure all of the connections are apposite. Make sure none of the pins on the connectors are bent. It is normal for the monitor plug to be missing a couple of pins.

Try another monitor on your computer and try your monitor on another computer that will communicate you which one is not working right.
Hi. Check to see if nearby are buttons on the monitor. One may by "Mode" or some such. See if you can find a "Reset to defaults".
check up the settings.
